third day.

it rained on one of the most important day for us as ID student to see the two famous architectural works of china. The birdnest and the water cube. stood in the rain waiting for the cue to enter. after entering.. it just felt, well, blah. it's huge no doubt, but that is inside is like the many stadiums we have in singapoe, only bigger and could contain more ppl. if they say bigger is magnificent, well, i think in this case, without the spectators, the whole interior looks minute and pathatic... well, it's my opinion.

anyway, as for the water cube, i thought it was interesting. seeing the stage of Michael Phelps made the scene slightly different. well, the interior was filled with many souvenirs booths and rather much like a white and blue underwater themed place... idk, maybe i just dunno how to appreciate the beauty of this interior..

second day in Beijing.
we went to the great wall of china and 13 tombs of the emperors of the Qing dynasty. Finally, to end the tour for the day, we went to the summer villa of emperors. it was rather relaxing and the details of the place were intricate. much unexpected architectural elements and spatial planning of the palace and villa were interesting and of certain meaning.
